Mental Training Is For Everyone.

There is a common misperception that there needs to be a “problem”, or something wrong to work with someone to improve mentally. There is, however, a common understanding that the mental approach to anything (sport, music, business, performance) is critical to success in that domain. Yet, most people do not think to invest in their mental fitness like they do their physical fitness or work skills.

There is much to say about my personal philosophy to mental skills training and you can read about it in depth on my Substack for free here. In short, I believe that traditional mental skills training should be supplemented with mindfulness-based mental skills training. Mindfulness-based techniques such as meditation are often misrepresented, though there is much greater awareness and knowledge of mindfulness now, there is still a resistance to these misunderstood ideas. To me mindfulness is a foundational practice to reap the benefits of other traditional mental skills. This may involve a fundamental philosophical shift in the trainee, but often this results in flourishing in their future endeavours.
